Occupational therapy life skills training equips individuals with the necessary tools, strategies and support to develop and enhance their abilities in activities of daily living, fostering independence, confidence and self-worth.

Where we Help

To ensure individuals receive accessible care, we offer home visits for a wide range of services, including assessments and interventions. This enables individuals to receive services in the comfort and familiarity of their home environment.

Office-based appointments are available at our centrally located office in Stuart Street, Tweed Heads. Our office provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere where you can access a wide range of services, including assessments, consultations and therapeutic interventions.

Our allied health practice recognises the value of virtual care and offers telehealth appointments to accommodate busy schedules, geographical constraints, or personal preferences meaning that you can connect with a practitioner from the comfort of your own home.

Charleen Hawes

Administration Assistant

Charleen is the welcoming face you’ll see when you arrive at our office and the friendly voice on the other end of the phone when you contact Evolve Therapy Collective. She keeps our team organised, our clinicians supported and our practice running smoothly, ensuring both clients and staff have everything they need.

Charleen was raised in the Northern Rivers, where she continues to live with her partner and two children. After finishing school, she began her career in administration and, over the past 16 years, has built extensive experience in high-level administrative roles across private hospitals.

In 2025, Charleen joined Evolve Therapy Collective to expand her skillset and quickly became an integral member of our team. She coordinates the day-to-day administration of the practice, supports our clinicians with the many behind-the-scenes tasks that keep the service operating efficiently, and is always willing to lend a hand wherever needed. Known for her infectious laugh and positive energy, Charleen helps create a welcoming environment for clients while keeping the whole team feeling connected and supported.

Outside of work, Charleen loves spending time outdoors with her two energetic children. She also brings valuable lived experience of the NDIS, as she supports a family member with additional needs.

Eloise Easterbrook

Allied Health Assistant

Eloise is currently in her third year of a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. She was initially drawn to occupational therapy through the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives while working in a profession that is diverse, person-centred and focused on supporting individuals to achieve their goals.

Eloise was seeking a career that combined healthcare with problem-solving, communication and the opportunity to help people participate in the activities that are important to them. She values the collaborative nature of occupational therapy, where therapists work alongside clients to build independence, confidence and engagement in everyday activities.

What continues to inspire Eloise about occupational therapy is the variety within the profession and the opportunity to work with people across all stages of life. She enjoys that every client brings unique goals, experiences and challenges, meaning no two days are the same. Eloise appreciates the holistic approach of occupational therapy, where the focus extends beyond a person’s diagnosis to understanding what is meaningful to them and supporting participation in the occupations that bring purpose and fulfilment to their lives.

Outside of her studies, Eloise enjoys maintaining an active and balanced lifestyle. She is often up early, starting her day with a morning matcha, heading to the gym and making the most of time spent with friends and family. Eloise also loves exploring new places and travelling whenever she can, whether it is a quick weekend getaway or a bigger adventure somewhere new.

Mel Carroll

Occupational Therapist

Mel grew up on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales and went on to complete her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Southern Cross University in 2023.

Mel is passionate about taking a client-centred approach and values building strong, collaborative relationships. She strives to create a supportive and positive environment where clients feel heard, empowered, and confident in working towards their goals. 

Mel has experience working across the lifespan. She began her career in the NDIS space, supporting children and adolescents to build skills, confidence and independence in their everyday lives. This included working closely with families, schools and support networks to help young people engage in meaningful activities and achieve their individual goals. More recently, Mel has had a focus on community aged care, where she enjoys supporting older adults to remain safe, independent and connected to the activities that matter most to them.

Since joining Evolve Therapy Collective, Mel has enjoyed broadening her clinical experience by working with neurodivergent adults and individuals with complex physical disabilities. She has developed a particular interest in comprehensive functional assessments and the assessment and prescription of assistive technology, supporting participants to access equipment and solutions that enhance their independence, safety and participation in everyday life.

Outside of the office, Mel enjoys dancing, Pilates, camping and taking advantage of the Gold Coast beaches with family and friends.

Grace Curtis

Occupational Therapist

Grace was born and raised in the Northern Rivers and has spent most of her life in Tweed Heads. She graduated from Southern Cross University on the Gold Coast in November 2025 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. Prior to commencing as an Occupational Therapist, Grace worked with Evolve Therapy Collective for two years as an Allied Health Assistant, supporting many of the clients she now works with in her role as an Occupational Therapist.

Grace was drawn to occupational therapy through her passion for supporting others to achieve greater independence and confidence in their everyday lives. She has gained experience across both public and private settings, working with adults, children and within a hospital environment. While she continues to explore her areas of clinical interest, Grace has developed a particular passion for supporting younger and older adults, with an interest in emotional regulation, sensory processing and physical disabilities.

Outside of work, Grace enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending concerts, exploring local farmers markets, going for weekend walks and travelling whenever she has the opportunity.

Angela Standley

Occupational Therapist

Angela is a dedicated Occupational Therapist with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Southern Cross University, Gold Coast. Raised in Sydney, she has called the Northern Rivers region of NSW home for over twenty years, bringing a deep connection to the local community into her work.

Her OT career began in paediatric therapy, supporting children, teenagers and their families to achieve meaningful goals in ways that truly work for them. She has now expanded her practice to include adults, while continuing to focus on collaboration, strengths and building trusting relationships.

With a compassionate heart, Angela works to uncover each client’s unique abilities and interests. She is committed to a neurodiversity-affirming approach and continually develops her skills through ongoing studies in mental health, nervous system regulation, sleep, breathing and orofacial myofunctional therapy.

Before becoming an OT, Angela spent over two decades in environmental management, communications and sustainability – leading high-profile projects across the public, corporate and not-for-profit sectors. This experience has shaped her ability to connect with people, foster engagement and create lasting positive change.

Angela is also a trained yoga teacher and has been on a personal awareness journey since her mid-twenties, deepening her understanding of the mind-body connection.

When she’s not working with clients, Angela enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, tending her veggie patch, being in nature and practicing yoga.

Anna Forth

Senior Occupational Therapist

Anna is a dedicated occupational therapist with a diverse background spanning community mental health, neurological rehabilitation, orthopaedic trauma, musculoskeletal injuries and aged care. She has a specialist interest in traumatic brain injury and is passionate about supporting individuals through complex recovery journeys.

Since qualifying in 2016, Anna has worked extensively across the UK, delivering evidence-based, person-centred care that promotes independence and enhances quality of life.  She began her academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Leeds, followed by a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSc) from Leeds Beckett University. Her clinical experience includes working with both adults and children in community mental health settings, specialist roles in neurorehabilitation services and aged care, and facilitating meaningful recovery for clients with a wide range of physical and cognitive impairments.

Anna’s strong interest in functional assessment and rehabilitation led her into independent occupational therapy practice in the UK, where she gained extensive experience in the medicolegal field. She developed expertise in comprehensive assessment and evaluation for individuals with injuries, disabilities or impairments resulting from incidents such as motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries and medical negligence.

Now based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Anna is working with Evolve Therapy Collective, providing both assessments and therapeutic interventions. She is committed to advancing her clinical expertise and contributing to multidisciplinary teams supporting individuals through recovery and meaningful participation in everyday life.

Saskia de Jonge

Senior Occupational Therapist

Saskia is originally from the Netherlands and grew up in Belgium. She completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2011 at Artevelde University of Applied Science in Ghent Belgium, followed by a Master’s in the Educational Science at Ghent University in 2014, specialising in Special Education, Disability Studies and Behavioural Disorders. Saskia began her healthcare career in Belgium, supporting children and teenagers with emotional, social and behavioural needs.

What started as a dream to travel the world, led to a year in Asia, four months in New Zealand and eventually settling permanently in Australia. Prior to joining Evolve Therapy Collective, Saskia worked as a disability support worker and for four years as a community-based Occupational Therapist working with clients of all ages and a wide range of disabilities for a different allied health company.

Saskia has clinical experience in functional capacity assessments, home and living assessments, assistive technology prescription, assessment for home modifications and therapeutic intervention. At Evolve Therapy Collective, Saskia has been excited to focus on supporting adults with psychosocial disabilities, intellectual disabilities and neurodivergence.

In her free time, Saskia enjoys surfing, hiking, yoga, swimming and running. She recently commenced free diving. Saskia has a lifelong love for horses, having competed in equestrian sports from a young age.

Amie Dutton Accredited MH Social Worker

Accredited MH Social Worker

Amie grew up on the Gold Coast and after finishing high school, spent 3 years traveling the world. This experience cemented her calling to study Social Work so she returned to Australia and graduated in 2019 from Griffith University.

Amie is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and a member of the AASW. Amie has worked in a variety of public health, Government and non-Government, acute and non-acute settings across Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales. She has also worked for a federal mental health recovery initiative as well as in suicide prevention project management. Amie provides psychological strategies, therapeutic interventions and case management to children, families and young people through to older people. Amie is passionate about supporting people to live their best life, no matter what challenges they may face.

 

Amie is available on Wednesdays and offers a range of services including therapeutic counselling and capacity building, mental health assessments, family interventions and care planning.

Nicola Poole

Senior Occupational Therapist

Nicola was born and raised in Sydney where she completed her Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Occupational Therapy degree, graduating in 2016. 

Nicola spent the early years of her working career travelling, which led to opportunities across NSW, Perth and the Gold Coast. Nicola has experience working as an OT in various roles including the public and private sectors of the hospital, outpatient rehabilitation, aged care and community work and upper limb and hand therapy treatment.

Nicola has extensive experience and is extremely passionate about working with people to achieve their daily functional goals. This includes functional assessments and ADL retraining, minor home modifications, equipment prescription, upper limb assessment and treatment, cognitive OT assessments and implementing strategies to maintain independence.

When not working Nicola spends most of her spare time outdoors, whether it be at the beach, a park, going for a hike or a picnic. She loves exercising, going for coffee and spending time with her family and their dog.

Sarah was born and raised in Rockhampton, Central Queensland. After finishing high school she completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at The University of Queensland in Brisbane.

Sarah commenced her Occupational Therapy career at Tweed Heads Hospital in 2015. Sarah’s passion for travel has seen her adventure around the world where she has worked as an OT in London National Health Service and most recently in New Zealand for the District Health Board and Vocational Rehabilitation settings. 

Sarah has 10 years experience working with a variety of clients and gained clinical skills in functional assessments, equipment prescription, stroke rehabilitation, minor home modifications, cognitive assessments and memory strategies to support independent living at home. Away from work, Sarah loves the outdoors including hiking, surfing, camping, playing water polo and spending time with family and friends.

Zain Constantine

Psychologist

Zain Constantine was born in a small coastal town in Tasmania, but has lived in the Tweed Heads/Southern Gold Coast area for the past 30 years. Zain graduated from Bond University with a Bachelor Social Science (Psychology) with Honours 2009, and completed his provisional internship through Tweed Heads Mental Health Services. 

Prior to becoming a registered psychologist Zain spent several years in the community services sector working in the areas of mental health and disability out reach and supported living, COPMI (Children of Parents with a Mental Illness), and mental health education programs for school children.

Zain’s current work as a psychologist has him working with clients experiencing a wide variety of psychological issues ranging from schizophrenia, anorexia nervosa, major depression, anxiety disorders and complex trauma. Through this diversity of clientele, Zain is experienced and confident in the assessment and treatment of a broad range of mental health issues and clients with complex histories and support needs.

Amber Correy

Exercise Physiologist

Amber completed her undergraduate of Exercise and Sports Science in 2014 at University of Sydney and her Masters in Exercise Physiology (Clinical Rehabilitation) at Charles Stuart university in 2015. Since becoming qualified, she has worked for various private Allied Health clinics as well as most recently working at various Mental Health units across NSW. 

She has a particular interest in educating and demonstrating the benefits of exercise on mental health conditions with a strong focus on achieving behavioural/lifestyle change. She can also work with those with physical disabilities and other chronic conditions, including all types of heart diseases and diabetes (Type 1 and 2), weight loss/control and nutrition planning, pre/post-operative rehabilitation, arthritis and osteoporosis, respiratory diseases, metabolic issues, chronic pain and fatigue, kidney complications, cancer and chemotherapy, falls prevention, balance and other conditions associated with ageing.

 

The main aim of an Accredited Exercise Physiologist is to prevent or manage chronic disease, disability or injury and assist in restoring one’s optimal physical function, health or wellness through safely delivered and specifically tailored exercise as well as assist in health and physical activity education, advice, support and lifestyle modification with a strong focus on achieving behavioural change.

Teigan Miller

Occupational Therapist

Teigan grew up on the Central Coast of New South Wales and relocated to the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast area to complete her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, where she graduated from Southern Cross University in 2021.

 

Teigan is passionate about helping people to live their best life and feel empowered. She enjoys helping people to do the things they never thought were possible. Teigan works collaboratively and compassionately with clients, families, and supports to help clients achieve their goals. Through her experiences in various student placements, Teigan has had opportunities to work in both public and private settings in hospital, school, and community OT roles. Teigan has had experience in rehabilitation, mental health, aged-care, and health promotion roles, and enjoys utilising therapeutic interventions and assistive technology to promote independence. Being a new graduate Teigan is excited to start specialising in an area of occupational therapy and is committed to ongoing professional development.

Outside of work Teigan enjoys playing footy, camping, adventuring, and spending time with her friends and family.

Philippa Ludwig

Senior Occupational Therapist

Philippa was born and raised in South Australia.  After graduating from high school, she obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy in 2000 and commenced her career in the rural community mental health services of South Australia’s Riverland and Victoria’s Riverina districts.

After a hiatus in Canada, Philippa returned to work in the mental health field as a mental health counsellor for the Riverland Division of General Practice, before moving to the Gold Coast to work primarily in the public community mental health sector in the areas of case management, psychosocial recovery and partnerships coordination. Throughout this time, Philippa has gained extensive skills working with a variety of mental health conditions and intellectual disability, with a particular interest in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Away from work, Philippa loves spending time with her family, including her dog, mountain biking (she holds an introductory mountain bike coach qualification), going to concerts and spending time at the beach.  

Fiona Williams

Co-Director  | Occupational Therapist

Fiona was born and raised in the picturesque north coast of Northern Ireland. She emigrated to Australia in 1990 and obtained her BA in Occupational Therapy at the University of Queensland in 1997. She has worked in a variety of public health settings across both the Gold Coast and Northern NSW including inpatient and community mental health, mental health rehabilitation, mental health mobile intensive treatment, senior OT supervision role and mental health recovery and partnership coordination. 

In addition, Fiona has worked in the private sector as an OT for 15 years, which has led to her having extensive experience in the area of medico-legal assessments and report writing. She is also a guest lecturer at Southern Cross University. Away from work, Fiona enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, bushwalking, photography, going to the beach and travelling.

Angela Brown

Co-Director  | Occupational Therapist

Angie was born and raised in the north of Scotland and, after graduating from high school, spent over a year in France before returning to Scotland where she obtained her BA Honours in Occupational Therapy in 2002. She practiced in maximum secure forensic psychiatry before emigrating to Australia in 2004. 

Angie has worked in a variety of public health settings including drug and alcohol, inpatient and community mental health, community forensic mental health, trauma informed care project management, suicide prevention project management, corporate risk and safety and numerous health management roles. In addition, Angie managed her own private OT practice prior to the development of Evolve OT where she gained extensive experience in minor and major home modifications, equipment prescription and medico-legal assessments and reports. Outside of work Angie loves to spend time with her family and border collie puppy, read, cook, travel and explore our local area.
